Simonpietro Salini è dead in Rome atage of 92 years. In the 1960s, together with his brother Franco, he led the construction company founded by his father Pietro, transforming it into a point of reference for the construction sector.

This expansion laid the foundation for the birth of the modern group Webuild, born in 2014 from the merger of Salini and Impregilo. The son Pietro Salini, who took over the company in 2014, was confirmed as CEO of Webuild last April.

In recent years he has reduced his operational activity, remaining honorary president of Salini Costruttori and other companies in the group, and moving to the Siena countryside where he passionately collected Sienese medieval works of art."
