Spread drops to 197bps: BTP yields at 2006 levels. Piazza Affari over 20 points

The spread between the BTP and the Bund fell today to 197 basis points with the yield on the Italian 10-year bond falling to 3,67%, the lowest level since February 23, 2006. The movement was seen in conjunction with the success of the 1-year Bot auction, registered at the end of the morning.

Meanwhile, the positive trend on the government bond market is also reflected in Piazza Affari. The Ftse Mib fluctuated at 14 pm at around 20.070 basis points, up by 0,93%. Bank stocks are doing very well and rallies are especially popular. The Bnaca Popolare of Emilia Romagna recorded a leap forward of 5,57% and was the stock with the best performance in the index.

Pirelli (+2,25%) and Finmeccanica (+2,14%) did very well.
