Senate, go-ahead from the Constitutional Affairs Commission for the reform: he goes to court on Monday

After three months of discussions and a tense day that put the result in doubt until the end, the reform of the Senate takes an important step forward with the approval of the Constitutional Affairs Commission of Palazzo Madama.

The reform will land in the classroom on Monday with the aim of receiving the green light from the Senate before the summer holidays.

Not only did the senators of the majority who support the Renzi government approve the important reform measure, but also the senators of Forza Italia and the Lega. Against Sel and M5S as well as dissidents from the centre-right and centre-left.

If the House agrees with the provision, the perfect bicameralism, which is at the origin of the excessive costs of politics and above all the slowness of the legislative process, will be overcome, and the Senate will no longer be elective but made up of around a hundred regional councillors.

Great satisfaction was expressed for the Government by the Minister of Institutional Reforms Maria Elena Boschi.
