Porta Nuova: Qatari fund buys the skyscrapers of Milan

The Porta Nuova project passes entirely into the hands of Qia. This was announced by Hines' number one in Italy, Manfredi Catella, announcing that the Qatari sovereign fund, which already held 40% of the Milanese real estate project, took over the shares of the other shareholders (Unipl, Hines itself, the pension fund Ttiaa Cref and Colma), for a figure that has not yet been disclosed.

According to Catella's statements, "The investors who sold today achieved a total return of over 30% with an annual average of 5-6%". There is therefore talk of an overall evaluation of the project, which also includes the Bosco Verticale designed by Studio Boeri and the Unicredit tower designed by Argentine architect Cesar Pelli, exceeding 2 billion euros.

For Italy, continued Catella, "The acquisition made by Qia represents an extremely positive signal in terms of the country's attractiveness for the most important institutional investors at an international level".
