After being awarded a month ago in the USA as the most innovative technology in the tire sector (Autotech Breakthrough Awards), Pirelli Cyber Tire has received three other prestigious international awards. The first in France, at theeighth edition of the Automobile Awards, in the "Safety" category. The second place was awarded by Autobest, an independent automotive industry jury representing 32 European countries. The third place was awarded by the American market analysis firm Frost & Sullivan, which named Pirelli "Company of the Year" for the innovative scope of its Cyber Tyre, a technology that "highlights how digital systems can redefine even traditional automotive components," according to the citation.

expressed by Cyber Tyre technology. The Automobile Awards celebrate excellence every year
of the sector, in line with the main market trends. Among the most significant awards are the
Safety Award, awarded this year to Pirelli Cyber Tyre, a technology that anticipates
risks and makes driving safer and smarter: thanks to the sensors integrated into the tires, connected
to the car's control unit, the system transmits data from the road in real time, and
allows control systems to intervene promptly, for example by braking early or
reducing braking distances.
The information collected by the sensorized tires, thanks to V2X connectivity and Pirelli algorithms which process them in real time, also allow infrastructure managers to communicate the state of the roads and, from the perspective of Smart Roads, any dangerous situations to other connected vehicles, as well as useful information for mobility management.
Autobest, founded in 2000, annually awards prizes to companies, technologies, and personalities driving the evolution of mobility. Among the most prestigious categories is the title “SafetyBest”, awarded this year to Pirelli "for the pioneering development of Cyber Tyre technology, an innovation of exceptional relevance to automotive safety." The award celebrates solutions that raise road safety standards, based on in-depth testing and analysis conducted by the jury, joining other Autobest categories, including the annual Best Buy Car award, as well as CompanyBest, EcoBest, and DesignBest.
Frost & Sullivan's "Company of the Year 2025" award is given to companies that anticipate trends, bring innovative solutions to market, and simultaneously generate concrete value. This award, assigned in the field “Global Smart Automotive Tire Market”, underlines Pirelli's role as a leader in innovation and a guide to the change the market is experiencing, thanks to the development of cutting-edge technologies, among which Cyber Tyre stands out, an intelligent system that integrates tyre data into vehicle control systems, other connected ecosystems and infrastructure.

For over a century, the technologies within them have evolved, but their role has always remained the same: to transmit forces to the ground to ensure vehicle control. Today, tires are evolving, and to this primary purpose, a new one is added: thanks to Pirelli Cyber Tyre, they have begun to collect and transmit data, processed using algorithms developed by Pirelli. These data enable new functions, both within vehicle electronics and in relation to road infrastructure, with development potential that looks towards smart cities and autonomous driving. Digitalization and connectivity are essential cornerstones for designing the mobility of the future, and our technology, the first in the tire world, has been able to grasp them, as confirmed by both these awards and our collaborations with leading car manufacturers,” he explained. Cyber Tire technology, after two decades of development, is now being implemented on models from several car manufacturers, thanks in part to the collaboration with Bosch, which has enabled integration with on-board electronic systems including ESP, ABS, and traction control. The first version of the system debuted on the McLaren Artura, the first production car to adopt Cyber Tire, in 2021. In 2024, Audi installed the track-specific version on the RS 4 Avant Edition 25 Years. The current, most advanced variant of the technology hit the road this year on the Pagani Utopia Roadster, where Cyber Tire is fully integrated with the control electronics. Also in 2025 an agreement with Aston Martin was also announced, which will adopt Cyber Tire technology on its new models. Meanwhile, other development collaborations are underway that will be announced soon and will include, in addition to the Prestige segment, models with greater popularity in the Premium market segments.
Pirelli Cyber Tyre is the world's first hardware and software system capable of collecting essential data from sensors in tyres – such as pressure, temperature, acceleration – and process them using proprietary algorithms. The system communicates in real time with the vehicle's electronics, integrating with ABS, ESP, and ADAS to enable new control functions, anticipating critical situations and thus improving safety, efficiency, and driving comfort. This technology goes beyond in-car features and extends to infrastructure, aiming to improve safety and quality, as demonstrated by the collaboration begun last June with the Puglia Region. The project uses Cyber Tire, combining tire data with images from on-board cameras to create a dynamic road map, reporting the "health" of roads and facilitating maintenance scheduling, thus improving safety.
