The CEO of the Turin company asks you to keep Fiat in Confindustria. If not, it will be released in January 2012.

Marchionne: without other guarantees, Fiat will leave Confindustria in 2012

The agreement signed yesterday between Confindustria, CGIL, CISL and UIL is "certainly a result of great importance, because it addressed some important issues in terms of representation and contracts". However, the agreement will not guarantee Fiat's permanence within the Confindustria system if there are not "further steps in the coming months which allow for the acquisition of the collectability guarantees necessary for the management of the agreements reached for Pomigliano, Mirafiori and Grugliasco". This is what Sergio Marchionne, CEO of Fiat, wrote in two separate letters (one as Fiat Spa and one as Fiat Industrial) sent to Emma Marcecaglia. If the required guarantees are not respected, "Fiat and Fiat Industrial will be forced to leave the federal system with effect from 1 January 2012", concludes the letter.
