Luxottica splits. The Group's Board of Directors yesterday approved the project for the partial demerger of the subsidiary Luxottica Srl in favor of Luxottica Group Spa. Based on the project, the main assets of the Srl (i.e. the license agreements with the main fashion houses and the distribution) will be assigned by demerger to the parent company as part of the group's financial restructuring project.
In the meantime, a sensational return is not excluded: Giorgio Armani is allegedly evaluating the possibility of leaving Safilo to return, ten years later, with Leonardo Del Vecchio's group, in which he continues to hold 5%. Safilo, meanwhile, announces the arrival of a Della Valle school manager in the role of Global Head of House Brands. This is Nicola Giorgi, who will report directly to CEO Roberto Vedovotto. Giorgi joins Safilo from the Tod's Group, where he was general manager of the Hogan brand.
