Is Freemasonry secret or not? A theatrical performance raises the curtain

England, June 24, 1717. It is the official birth date of Freemasonry. A story which, however, has its roots in ancient traditions and which is revived in Rome by the cultural association "The Infernal Machine" in a journey in four episodes through the symbolic universe of Freemasonry, the origin of its symbols, the peculiar terminology and the characteristics of the Masonic Temple, which have their roots in the ancient hermetic-esoteric sacred sciences, which Ancient Greece borrowed from the East, without forgetting the symbolic contribution of ancient Egypt, Islamic mysticism, Jewish Cabalism and Templarism.

An essential historical excursus to discover the protagonists and their vicissitudes and influence in Italian and Roman history and politics, without forgetting the scandalous deviations of the P2. When the Masons were in government and leadership, from Garibaldi to Collodi, the rediscovery of a forgotten Risorgimento, which finds its reason for being, its planning and the formation of its ruling class right within the Italian Freemasonry.

First appointment Sunday 11 November (“myths and origins”), according to the following Sunday 18 (“the symbols of Freemasonry”), then on November 25 and December 2 (“the Freemasons founding fathers of the Kingdom of Italy”). Each meeting, lasting about an hour and a half, will be accompanied by light refreshments. The appointment is always at 16,30 and the participation fee is 13 euros per meeting. The address will be provided when booking by telephone, which is mandatory: 3287163415.

At the end of the four meetings there is a visit to a Masonic temple which, as is known, is usually closed to non-adepts. And again on the subject of Freemasonry, on 2 December, at 11, again on the initiative of the association "The Infernal Machine" meeting at the Montemartini plant (the first power plant in Rome) on "Freemasonry and post-unification progress: machines and gods". Appointment at 11.00 in front of the museum entrance, Via Ostiense 106. Participation fee for the meeting 10 euros, which coincides with the visit to the museum, a visit which is free because it is the first Sunday of the month.
