Istat: household purchasing power down by 0,2% in the second quarter, disposable income rising

Final consumption expenditure recorded an increase of 0,9%, while the profit shares of non-financial companies remained stable with the investment rate marking a slight decrease of 0,1%.

In the second quarter of 2011, the purchasing power of Italian families, net of inflation, decreased by 0,2% compared to the first three months of the year and by 0,3% compared to the second quarter of 2010. what emerges from the data released by Istat. Between April and June 2011 household disposable income increased by 0,5% compared to the previous three months and by 2,3% compared to the same period in 2010. Household expenditure for final consumption, in current values , was up 0,9% from the first quarter of this year and 3,7% from the second quarter of last year.

The profit share of non-financial companies reached 40,3% in the second quarter of the current year, remaining unchanged from the previous quarter and showing a decrease of 0,9% compared to the same period of 2011. The rate investment ratio of non-financial corporations was 24,0%, down 0,1 percentage point from the previous quarter and unchanged from the second quarter of 2010.
