The presentation ceremony of the "Joint Training Center" (JTC), the new center of advanced training of the University created with the support of ZTE, one of the major providers of telecommunications products and services at a global level.
The inauguration follows an agreement concluded on July 28 between ZTE Italia and the University, aimed at creating a training center in ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) and other sectors related to the Group's activities.
Xiong Hui, Executive Vice President of ZTE and Hu Kun, President for Western Europe and Chief Executive Officer for Italy were present at the ceremony. For “Tor Vergata”, the Pro Rector with Delegation of Educational Offer Giovanni Barillari and Francesco Vatalaro, Professor of Telecommunications. Among the speakers, Alberto Bradanini, former Italian Ambassador to China and President of the CSCC - Center for Studies on Contemporary China.
“The partnership between ZTE and the Tor Vergata University of Rome is strategic for strengthening our Group in Italy, with the aim of making the country our European hub” said Hu Kun “Management training is one of the key values for ZTE. I am sure that the collaboration with such a prestigious university will allow us to offer international programs capable of attracting talent from all over the world".
“Our University is proud of this collaboration – declared the Pro Rector of “Tor Vergata” Giovanni Barillari – which promises to provide new opportunities to our students. The opportunity for “Tor Vergata” to become part of ZTE University, a circuit in which we will be the first Italian university, confirms our vocation for innovation, interdisciplinarity and internationalisation”.
One of the main objectives of the pole of excellence will be the development and promotion of managerial training, thanks to the collaboration with the Department of Engineering of the "Mario Lucertini" company of the Roman University.
The agreement provides for the activation of courses and training activities on ICT, business management and in the field of mobile communications and future generation fixed and hybrid telecommunications networks (NGA); the organization of events, seminars, sector workshops; joint participation in training projects, both national and international. “Tor Vergata” also makes part of the Villa Mondragone headquarters available, where the company will build a laboratory equipped with innovative tools for fixed and mobile telecommunications.
Thanks to the agreement, the center becomes part of ZTE University, a global circuit made up of 15 other centers around the world, created to provide advanced training services for customers, employees and partner companies. To date, ZTE University's activities affect nearly 500 people and more than 400 companies around the world.
