Franco Gallo, former finance minister and president emeritus of the Constitutional Court, is the new president of the Treccani Encyclopaedia. His appointment is one of the final acts of the Letta government which carried it out during the last Council of Ministers.

Gallo takes the place of Giuliano Amato who had resigned from Treccani after his appointment as new judge of the Constitutional Court.
