Hera Comm, safeguarded electricity in 11 regions

Estimated annual turnover of approximately 500 million euro, with consequent positive effects on operating profit - The Hera group company will manage the service in the two-year period 2017-2018 for approximately 45.000 supply points, for over 2 TWh of energy per year

From 2017 January 31 to 2018 December XNUMX Hera Comm, the group's sales company Ivy, will manage the safeguarded electricity service in eleven regions: Emilia-Romagna, Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Tuscany, Marche, Umbria, Sardinia, Campania, Abruzzo, Calabria and Sicily, which correspond to six assignment lots in the national tender called by the Single Buyer.

There are a total of around 45.000 supply points to be served under safeguarding, for around 2,2 TWh of total energy. The annual turnover deriving from the management of this service is estimated at around 500 million euro, over 50 million more each year than in the previous period, and will determine a significant improvement in the results of the Hera Group in the electricity commercial area both at gross operating margin (which in 2015 amounted to 65 million euros) and operating profit.

The electricity supply service under the safeguard regime, which Hera Comm has managed since 2009, concerns public administrations and those companies with more than 50 employees or a turnover of more than 10 million euro or which use medium voltage electricity and which do not have still chosen a supplier on the open market or are temporarily without one.

Hera Comm won the tender for the safeguard service in these 11 regions thanks to an advantageous economic offer. An important result, which adds to the recent award of the natural gas default service for end customers in the period 1 October 2016 - 30 September 2018 in as many regions (Emilia-Romagna, Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Trentino-Alto Adige, Tuscany, Marche, Umbria, Valle d'Aosta, Piedmont, Liguria and Lombardy).
