Christie's presents Andy Warhol: Better Days, an online-only sale held in partnership with the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, with original photographs that show Warhol's ability to capture the beauty of ordinary life. Proceeds from the sale will support the Foundation's efforts to provide emergency relief to artists across the United States. The sale will be open for bidding from April 28 to May 6.

Featuring 60 unique photographs, the works featured here have been chosen for their ability to transport the viewer to better days, emphasizing the splendor of the outdoors and the simple pleasures associated with human interaction. The works have been carefully selected by Michael Dayton Hermann, Director of Licensing, Marketing and Sales of the Warhol Foundation in coordination with Christie's. Hermann said: “We are delighted to be working with Christie to enhance the Foundation's ability to continue investing in society when it needs it most. This unique sale focuses on works that celebrate Warhol's uncanny ability to draw attention to the artistic inspiration of ordinary life. “

The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts has undertaken several concurrent efforts to provide emergency relief to artists during the COVID-19 pandemic. It mobilized its regional grant-making network to deliver emergency grants to sixteen cities across the country, and dedicated support to both the Contemporary Arts Foundation's COVID-19 Emergency Grants Fund and Artist Relief, a new coalition of national grant providers offer emergency resources to artists in need. These efforts represent a $2,6 million commitment from the Foundation to address the crisis-related needs of the nation's artists. Proceeds from Andy Warhol: Better Days will support the Foundation's ongoing efforts to provide emergency support to artists across the country.
