Fincantieri, Bono: "2014 a turning point"

A turning point. With these words the managing director of Fincantieri Giuseppe Bono defined 2014 for the group during the shareholders' meeting. A marked year above all since listing on the stock exchange of the company, which represents "a milestone, but also a moment from which to start to face new challenges possibly to be overcome".

A year, 2014, which closed today, with the unanimous approval of the budget by the assembly and with a consolidated net profit of 55 million from 85 million in 2013, with revenues increasing to almost 4,4 billion and with orders growing to approximately 5,64 billion. Fincantieri's net financial position was positive by 44 million against a net debt of 155 million recorded in 2013 and the company will not distribute dividends.

The prospects for 2015, according to Bono, are positive, thanks also to an agreement already reached with Carnival for five cruise ships plus options, valued at 4 billion. “In the cruise ship sector – underlined the CEO of Fincantieri – there are excellent growth prospects”.

For Fincantieri, leader of the segment, it is a moment to be exploited in the best possible way, resisting the declines in the offshore and in the military segment. To do this, according to its CEO, the company needs "an increase in productivity and a new dialectic with the union", necessary steps to compete within "a globalized world.
