Fiat: agreement with Suzuki for the supply of 300 diesel engines in India

Fiat and Suzuki have reached a new commercial agreement that fits perfectly, as underlined by the note released by Lingotto, in the vein of the fruitful relationship that already exists between the companies. The agreement provides for the supply to Maruti Suzuki India Limited, a subsidiary of the Japanese company, up to 100.000 1.3 MultiJet 75 HP SDE engines per year, as of January 2012 for a period of three years.

The power unit, whose engine production for Msil will start in the fourth week of January at the Fial plant in Ranjangaon, in the state of Maharashtra (production which will add to the 1.3 MultiJet Sde engines which are already being manufactured by Suzuki Powertrain India Limited on Fiat licence), it will be installed on Suzuki-branded vehicles manufactured in India by Maruti Suzuki for the local market.
