Enel, the historic headquarters gets a makeover: here's how it will be

The historic headquarters of Enel, in Viale Regina Margherita in Rome, changes its look. And what a look. The electric group, led by Francesco Starace, has started a redevelopment that will radically change the structure, dated from the 60s: the works, which have already begun, concern a total area of about 80 thousand square meters, with a project designed to increase people's well-being, through larger, more modern, comfortable work spaces and in line with a more agile organization. And above all based on innovative and sustainable principles, in particular through a significant reduction in consumption.

The lighting and air conditioning systems will in fact be completely modernized, guaranteeing comfort but at the same time green management, which will also be expressed through the creation of internal and external green spaces and areas dedicated to psychophysical well-being. The goal, from the point of view of sustainability, is to achieve the LEED and WELL certifications, both with the Gold level. The project was designed by the architectural studio Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel (ACPV), while the works were contracted out to Colombo Costruzioni of Lecco. The Municipality of Rome is also participating in the project.

“Innovation and sustainability are the guidelines of Enel's commitment – he commented Carlo Tamburi, director of Enel Italy – thanks to this project they will also be applied concretely to the workplace, with benefits for people who will find themselves in an environment redesigned on the basis of their needs. Thanks to the decision to confirm our presence in the historic headquarters in Viale Regina Margherita, which strongly characterizes the identity of the neighborhood, the city of Rome will make use of an important urban regeneration project, with one of the most modern and advanced buildings on the territory".

“This project – he added the mayor of Rome Virginia Raggi – demonstrates how, thanks to careful policies, shared objectives and clear answers, Rome continues to be the privileged place where the largest Italian and international companies have their headquarters. Cities can only restart through a healthy collaboration between public and private with certain times and projects that go in the direction of innovation and sustainability. A virtuous example of this is what we will soon have in the capital thanks to the important redevelopment of the Enel Group”.
