One foot in Friuli, the other in Poland. In an interview with Sole 24 Ore, the CEO of Electrolux Italia, Ernesto Ferrario, announces that the production of medium-high range washing machines will remain in the plant Porcia, province of Pordenone. Low-cost washing machines, on the other hand, will emigrate to Poland from 2016.
“By medium-high range I mean washing machines that reach up to 1400-1600 rpm – explains Ferrario – with a capacity from 7 to 11 kg and LCD screens. However, we would like to transfer the range of 7 kg washing machines to Poland in 2016, including that of the Slims, which are mostly sold in the East: their price dynamics are falling sharply”.
The other game is played on regional resources which should arrive at Electrolux. Fundamental liquids that will have to add up to the refinancing of the law on detachment of solidarity contracts to make the multinational's industrial plan sustainable, which is based on a 3 euro per hour cut in labor costs. The only way to avoid the 432 redundancies at the Porcia plant.
