From 29 April at 2 May 2025, the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, will host the 35th edition of Coverings, the most important North American fair dedicated to ceramic surfaces and natural stones. Among the main protagonists returns Ceramics of Italy, which will represent the excellence and innovation of the Italian ceramic industry.
Italian Pavilion: the beating heart of Coverings 2025
Organized by Confindustria Ceramica, Italy Pavilion, located in the South Hall, will bring together 80 of the most prestigious Italian brands. This space confirms itself as a lively meeting point for architects, designers and professionals in the sector, offering cutting-edge collections that express the commitment to sustainability and technological innovation.
The institutional stand will be present in the centre of the Pavilion Ceramics of Italy (#1225), designed by New York-based studio HDR with the theme “Giardino all'Italiana.” Featuring a modular and reusable design, the booth integrates flooring, custom furnishings and three-dimensional structures made with materials provided by leading companies such as Appiani, Ceramica Vogue, Cotto d'Este, La Fabbrica, Lea Ceramiche, Mirage, Naxos and Fila Surface Care Solutions. A dedicated area will also offer an authentic Italian hospitality experience thanks to the catering of Spuntino of Miami.
Sustainability and innovation: what's new in Coverings 2025
This year, Coverings 2025 will offer visitors a preview of key ceramic design news. In the spotlight is the “I Choose Responsibility” campaign, which encourages designers and consumers to make more conscious choices, preferring sustainable products. In addition, the “Destination: Cersaie” program promotes participation in the International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings, which will be held in Bologna from 22 to 26 September 2025.
Le trends ceramics this year include water-inspired colors, autumnal shades such as Pantone “Mocha Mousse,” tactile surfaces and bold geometric patterns. Innovations for indoor and outdoor furnishings are the beating heart of the collections on display, along with new solutions for terraces and outdoor spaces, characterized by weather-resistant porcelain stoneware and sustainability certifications (EPD, LEED, Greenguard, B Corp).
In addition to the exhibition, the program includes important appointments educational and institutional. Among these, the session on global tile trends (April 29, 11:00 a.m.) with the participation of Danielle McWilliams of Novità Communications. On April 30, the traditional Ceramics of Italy International Press Conference will be held, followed by the award ceremony of the Tile Competition 2025, which celebrates the best applications of Italian ceramics in contemporary architecture. Also on April 30, during the Italian Evening, the Confindustria Ceramica North American Distributor Award 2025 will be presented to a distributor who has distinguished himself for his competence and dedication to the promotion of Italian ceramic products.
2025 of Italian Ceramics: A Year of International Events
2025 is a year full of events celebrating Italian ceramics. After the success of Maison&Objet in Paris, where 27 Italian companies presented the best of their production, ceramics was also the protagonist of the Italian Design Day in Poland, with architect Andrea Maffei who explored the use of tiles in large urban projects, such as Milan CityLife. In February, the KBIS in Las Vegas hosted the most innovative solutions for furniture and interior design, while in March Italian ceramics were the protagonist at MIPIM of Cannes, an international reference event for the real estate sector. After Coverings 2025 in Orlando, Italian design will move to Clerkenwell Design Week in London (20-22 May), an opportunity to explore the most advanced trends. The grand finale will be Cersaie 2025 in Bologna (24-28 September), an unmissable event for all professionals and enthusiasts of design and ceramics.
