Covatta, petition for a proper burial

An appeal by intellectuals and friends of Luigi Covatta to denounce a national shame and ask for a burial for the politician who died on April 18, but whose body - as unfortunately in many other cases - still lies unburied - How to join the appeal

Covatta, petition for a proper burial

A petition to give a proper burial to Luigi Covatta, the socialist politician failed last April 18. It was signed by a group of intellectuals and friends of Covatta led by Professor Giulio Sapelli, but open to all people interested in the matter. Here is the text of the invitation to join:

“Luigi Covatta was missed by his loved ones, by political and cultural life and will be remembered by all those who loved him. And we all would like to remember him every day and on his grave we would like to find ourselves and find ourselves in his memory

This, however, is not possible because Luigi's body lies unburied after days of waiting and like him many other people too, who leave earthly life without the public authorities being able to perform that essential function on which legitimacy is based of the power of governments and civilizations are founded: honor the dead

The decline of the public spirit begins precisely when the urns of the dead can no longer rise to manifest the imperishable memory, the affection, the love one has towards the departed. It is a national disgrace on which too much is guiltily silent

This petition wants RAISE CIVIC CONSCIOUSNESS AND UNITE THEM IN PAIN

Without respect for the dead there is no respect for anyone or anything

We need to put an end to this shame.

We ask you to sign this appeal with a pure spirit and a sincere heart. Anyone wishing to join can add a comment to this article and it will be entered with First and Last Name.
