Champagne and Salami: an unusual pairing at Cremona's sausage festival.

In Cremona, the bold flavor of salami meets the freshness of beer and the elegance of champagne. The journey through the flavors of the King of cured meats for the eighth edition of the Salami Festival will be enhanced with unique pairings.

Over the three days of the event, tradition and influence blend together, showcasing all the nuances of salami flavor in a festival that brings together the best salami producers and refiners from all over Italy.

Along the streets of Cremona, you can experience the versatility of salami for any occasion, from lunch to aperitif, from a snack to dinner. The star of this year's edition is the original creation of Michelin-starred chef Andrea Impero of Elementi Fine Dining in Borgobrufa, who will receive the Salami Oscar for his reinterpretation of one of the symbols of Italian gastronomic tradition. In Cremona, the chef will present his creation, born from the encounter between the culture of pork butchering and prestigious French sparkling wines.

Champagne won't be the only surprise ingredient: the spotlight at the Cremona Festival will also shine on the world of beer. Among the stands in Piazza Roma, you can sample Almaremma beer salami, a creation from the Tuscan Alta Maremma region, where the flavors of pork butchering meet the aromatics of craft beer. Beer enthusiasts will also recognize the 4 hops of Birrificio Angelo Poretti in the taste of the beer salami, thanks to the beer salami from Lombardy's Colombo salumificio.

Make room for innovation with the 100% plant-based Mopur® Original salami-flavored cold cut from FelsineoVeg SB, a product designed for those who love to experiment with new alternatives without sacrificing taste, a solution that will please the curious, vegetarians, and those passionate about balanced nutrition.

Among the Salami Festival stands, there will also be room for more traditional flavors, with products served to please even the most accustomed palates, those more inclined to classic flavors. During this gastronomic journey, you'll encounter the region's flagship product, Como salami, characterized by a focus on quality pork, followed by salami made from beef, goat, venison, and horse meat. Lovers of bold flavors will want to visit the spicy salami stand or the peppery Muletta salami, while those seeking a milder flavor can opt for the garlic-free salami.

Along with the King of cured meats, in Cremona you can also savor the bold flavors of other products such as prosciutto, cotechino, porchetta, salsiccia, and soppressata. This gastronomic journey will also be accompanied by craft beers, soft drinks, and various types of mustard: starting with the traditional flavors of Cremona and ending with Tropea's red onion mustard. All these pairings will be offered at the various stands, along with specially designed cream soups and compotes to enhance the flavor of the Festival's star.
