Families with ISEE less than 9.796 euros, up to 20 thousand euros per household with at least four children, and the people who use it equipment lifesaving medical supplies, without ISEE limits. It will not be necessary to submit any request: the discount will be applied directly from the supplier The contribution will be made by the energy supplier or the supplier under the enhanced protection regime and will appear as a separate item on the bill. If the invoice amount is less than €115, the remaining credit will be automatically deducted from subsequent bills, while any interruptions in supply will be reimbursed according to the rules already established by law. This contribution is in addition to the other benefits provided by the social bonus, which typically ranges between €150 and €200 depending on the household size.
In addition to this, a voluntary bonus is foreseen for families with ISEE up to 25 thousand euros who are not currently receiving the social bonus. This is a contribution optional, which suppliers can decide to recognize, calculated on the Pe component, i.e. the energy price, of consumption in the first two months. The discount will be applicable only if consumption falls within certain thresholds: 500 kWh in the first two months e 3.000 kWh in the previous year. The final amount will therefore vary based on actual energy expenditure and will depend on the supplier's decision to participate in the initiative. The final details on the access methods and criteria will be established in a future ARERA provision, which will make the mechanism clearer and more transparent for consumers.
Bills, changing supplier within 24 hours: times and procedures
From December 2026, non-defaulting domestic customers will be able to change electricity supplier in a time span maximum of 24 hours, thanks to a resolution by Arera which implements the European directive 2019/944. The procedure provides for a pre-check for a maximum of five days to verify the regularity of the connection point and the absence of arrears, after which the transfer takes place within 24 technical hours between the two operators. During this phase, the connection point is "frozen" and the customer is informed via the Offers portal, avoiding unwanted interventions or unwanted contracts. The new modality allows you to reduce changeover times Compared to the past, when a request made after the 10th of the month could be processed even two months later, it guarantees greater transparency and protection for the consumer.
