Bonus 80 euros, the family quotient is coming: children and the number of salaries will count

Bonus 80 euros, the family quotient is coming: children and the number of salaries will count

Not just 80 euros. In a few months - but not starting from the next paycheck - those with a large family could obtain a wider Irpef deduction than the one arriving from May for all incomes between 8 thousand and 26 thousand euros a year.

The idea is to introduce a principle of progressiveness through the "family quotient", which, "with its various variants", is being studied by the Government, and could be included "in the fiscal delegation, therefore soon". The announcement comes from Graziano Delrio, undersecretary of the residence of the Council, who in an interview with Panorama also leaves the door open to possible "corrections in the 2015 stability law".

The amendments would aim to illuminate the numerous areas left in the shadows of the 80 euro bonus, which does not take into account some decisive factors for a fair distribution of resources, such as the presence (and number) of dependent children and the distinction between single-income families from those who can count on more salaries.

The current law, for example, ensures a double bonus to a household made up of two people with the same salary, while it does not guarantee any support to a family of four with a single income of 28 euros per year.

The chapter relating to the so-called "incompetent" then remains to be addressed, who - earning less than 8 thousand euros a year - are already exempt from paying Irpef and therefore will not obtain any benefit from the relief. To help this segment of the population as well, Renzi has already promised a new government intervention in the coming months. At the moment, however, there are no deadlines, nor hypotheses on where to find the covers.
