Hybrid cars, possible Fiat-Toyota collaboration

Turin calls Toyota. And the city, home to the Japanese car manufacturer of the same name, responds. The company, leader in the development of ecological cars with its Prius, "could evaluate" a request for the supply of hybrid technology by Fiat, said the president Takeshi Uchiyamada.

"We think that hybrid technology shouldn't be owned only by one manufacturer, so if Fiat presented us with a supply request (of this technology) we could evaluate it," Uchimada said on the sidelines of QuattroruoteDay. On the complete integration between Fiat and Chrysler, the president of Toyota said: “We are observing this collaboration with great interest. The two groups do not currently have an overlap in strong markets and therefore if they are able to exploit this element there is great potential in terms of advantages” for them.
