The San Giorgio del Porto shipyard in Genoa has obtained the order, worth 90 million euros, to carry out the restyling of Costa Romantica, of the Costa Cruises fleet. For the realization of the works, which will begin at the end of October and will last three months, San Giorgio del Porto will also be able to count on the collaboration of the associated company T.Mariotti. At the end of the intervention there will be two new half-decks, 11 cabins and 120 cabins and suites with private balconies.
The maximum capacity of the ship will thus increase from 1.697 to 1.800 total guests and the cabins will increase from 678 to 789. The tonnage will reach 56 tons against the current 53. The vessel will be called Costa neoRomantica and will be equipped with a wine bar, cafeteria, show lounger bar with dance floor, cabaret and night club. After the inauguration, Costa neoRomantica will offer some 11-day cruises in the Canary Islands, departing from Savona, while in the summer it will head to Northern Europe for two-week cruises with new itineraries.
