Volkswagen is considering "further developments of its management structure", developments that would be associated with changes of people in the board of management.

This is what the German automotive giant indicated in a note published on its official website.

Volkswagen explains that among the upcoming news there could also be "a change in the position of the chairman of the board". Words that seem to herald the exit of the managing director, to Matthias Muller.

According to rumors, the new CEO could arrive as early as the end of this week. According to reports from the German newspaper ReutersIndeed, the top management of the group would be oriented towards appointing the current number one of the VW brand, Herbert Diess, in place of Matthias Mueller as CEO of the entire group.

The change at the top, writes the newspaper, could already be decided during the meeting of the supervisory board on Friday.

The note also states that the chairman of the supervisory committee of the group is negotiating with some members of the board and Muller himself "has demonstrated his general willingness to contribute to the changes". "It is currently completely open to any possibility - concludes the note - whether the considerations and discussions currently underway will lead to further developments of the managerial structure or personnel changes in the Volkswagen Board of Management".

The new arrivals were enthusiastically received on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. The Volkswagen share is currently gaining 4,17%, rising from 164,8 to 171,8 euros, also benefiting from theChinese tariff opening.
