Venice, free admission to Peggy's house

It is now an unmissable appointment, which all Venetians eagerly await. On the occasion of the Feast of the Madonna della Salute, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection opens its doors free of charge to citizens, offering them a rich calendar of activities and numerous surprises.

This year, on the occasion of the Free Week of the Venetians from 16 21 to November, the museum organizes free guided tours, educational workshops for children, and offers discounts on the first subscription to the Friends of the Collection, the Museum Shop and the Peggy Guggenheim Cafè. By showing up at the ticket office with an identity document and/or Venezia Unica card, residents of the 44 municipalities of the Metropolitan City of Venice will be able to visit the exhibition “My weapon against the atomic bomb is a blade of grass. Tancred. A retrospective”, a long-awaited retrospective curated by Luca Massimo Barbero which sees once again the artist Tancredi Parmeggiani as protagonist at Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, after more than 60 years from the exhibition dedicated to him by Peggy Guggenheim, his discoverer and supporter, right in the halls of his palace on the Grand Canal.

This will be an unmissable opportunity to discover this great interpreter of the Italian art scene of the second half of the 900s, through a journey of over 90 works, which reconstruct his artistic parable in an intimate and capillary way, as brief as it is dazzling. Together with the exhibition it will also be possible to visit the permanent collection, the Schulhof Collection, the Nasher Sculpture Garden, and on Monday 21, from 15 to 18 pm, all in the new museum café for a hot mulled wine offered by the Peggy Guggenheim Cafè!

During the week, every day, at 11 and 12, visitors will be able to follow insights respectively dedicated to Peggy Guggenheim and her life between New York and Venice and guided tours of the permanent collection, which will be followed by an insight into Palazzo Venier at 16 pm dei Leoni, and a guided tour of the Schulhof Collection at 17pm. A guided tour of the temporary exhibition is scheduled every afternoon at 15pm, an appointment that is repeated on Saturday and Sunday at 11.30am and 15.15pm. The visits begin at the times indicated above inside the museum garden and continue in the exhibition spaces and are by reservation.

It's time for the kids to come on the weekend. Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 double appointment with Kids Day: at 11 and 15 the young visitors will try their hand at the workshop Discovering Tancredi Parmeggiani.
