USA: in July, the sale of new homes fell by 0,7%, the worst figure since February

U.S. new home sales declined in July at 298 compared to 300 in June (preliminary estimate was 312).
This is the lowest level in the last five months, i.e. since February. The figures were released by the Census Bureau (the Department of Commerce) of the United States and therefore indicate a decrease of 0,7% compared to the previous month. The data is worse than the expectations of analysts who had predicted a level of around 310 thousand units. Compared to last year, however, there was an increase of 6,8% from the 279 units in July 2010.
