TiMedia, Agcom: ok integration with Rete A

THEAGCOM gives the decisive go-ahead for the integration of the TV frequencies of Telecom Italy and the group L'Espresso. The conclusion of the transaction is expected by the end of the month. In recent days - according to Radiocor - the Communications Authority authorized the transfer of 100% ownership of Rete A to Telecom Italia Media Broadcasting, a subsidiary of TiMedia, thus completing the last formal step necessary before the formalization of the operation.

On April 9, Telecom Italia Media and L'Espresso reached an agreement to create the first independent network operator in Italy by combining the television signal transmission infrastructures of TiMedia (3 digital multiplexes) and Rete A (owner of 2 mux). The new group develops a turnover of approximately 100 million euros.

Based on the agreement reached, TiMedia will indicate the majority of directors including the managing director: in this regard, the intention is to confirm the current operational guide of TimB, Paolo Ballerani. The L'Espresso group, on the other hand, will be responsible for the proposal on the president of the new reality. The reservation on the name, according to what is learned, will be dissolved by the editorial group by the end of this week.

At the opening today in Piazza Affari, the share of Telecom Italia Media drops 1,23%, to 1,363 euros, while that of the L'Espresso group drops by one percentage point.
