Terna launches a contest for architects: how to apply

Terna launches a "Beauty Contest" intended for architects, professional studios or individual professionals for the construction of the future conversion stations of Codrongianos (Sassari) and Suvereto (Livorno), included in the modernization project of Sa.Co.I.3, the electrical connection between Sardinia, Corsica and mainland Italy.

"The will to carry out the Contest is the result of the long and fruitful path of dialogue and sharing of the Sa.Co.I.3 project" with the municipalities of Codrongianos and Suvereto and "has the aim of identify the best project proposal rin relation to the buildings, the perimeter fences, the lighting and the landscape insertion” of the converter stations”, Terna explains in a note.

The website of the company that manages the international electricity grid contains useful information for submitting applications and, subsequently, projects. To do this you will have to go on Terna's purchasing portal and click on the “Opportunities” section. Applications, accompanied by the required documents, must be presented by 12 noon on Monday 25 May.

Architects, or groupings of studios/professionals, who have their legal or operational headquarters in the Sardinia region (for the Condrongianos station) and in the Tuscany region (for the Suvereto station) may participate.

Terna will evaluate the applications. If the participants meet the required requirements, they will be invited to the next phase of the Beauty Contest, ie the phase relating to the actual presentation of the architectural projects of the future converter station which will be evaluated by a special Commission. The five best proposals will receive a flat-rate reimbursement of expenses for participation, while the winner of the Contest will be awarded the consultancy contract to Terna for the subsequent phases of definitive and executive architectural design.
