Stellantis: the electric Maserati will be produced in Mirafiori

stellantis move from Grugliasco to Mirafiori the entire Maserati production, Compresa the power line of the House of the Trident, renamed Folgore. The first model will arrive in 2024 and from the following year every type of Maserati will have a full electric variant. The group's announcement came to the Ministry of Economic Development, during the meeting with the government and trade unions.

Stellantis thus interrupts production at the Grugliasco site, moving the lines Ghibli e Quattroporte in Mirafiori, where the SUV is already being produced Get the Funds!. However, the transfer of people to Mirafiori from Grugliasco - which will still remain operational with various activities to support the production of Ghibli and Quattroporte - it will have no impact on employment levels total of the area.

Stellantis has also confirmed the launch plan for next year, which for Mirafiori also includes the production of Gran Convertible and Gran Turismo. The Turin site will be a “strategic center of competence and development. It will be the home of the 500 and it will be the headquarters of the new full electric platform”, specifies the group.

In particular, the 500 will no longer be produced in Poland, in the Tychy plant: the future will be electric only with a growth in numbers from 10% to 70% in the period from 2025-2030 and only at Mirafiori, which will then turn into the "Stellantis Turin manufacturing district".

Not only that: “Among the first actions – continues the note – it will be created a new electrified platform dedicated to Maserati which will allow the creation of the new Maserati GranTurismo and GranCabrio and, above all, the new Maserati Quattroporte in a period between 2022 and 2024".

In Grugliasco the trade unions have announced a meeting at the gates for Wednesday the 13th to evaluate the company's announcement and decide what to do.

"In the next few days, presumably next 25 October, a timely and detailed comparison will be activated on all the industrial and employment aspects relating to the Turin production hub", write the general secretary and the national secretary of the Fim-Cisl, Roberto Benaglia and Ferdinando Uliano.

"The confirmation of the investments in Turin is good, which reaffirms its central role for research and innovation - comments the Minister of Economic Development, Giancarlo Giorgetti – It is a positive sign, as is the reassurance that there will be no relocation to Poland for Sevel of Chieti. Regarding the issue of the Gigafactory of Termoli, there is a great effort by the government to accompany this initiative also with public subsidies”.
