Serie A, the waltz of the benches comes alive: only Garcia and Benitez are sure

Serie A, the waltz of the benches comes alive: only Garcia and Benitez are sure

And also this year the time for the Waltz has arrived. As usual, the transfer market opens with the coaches, who have now become protagonists of the system almost as much as the players. And so the last day of the championship, moreover almost useless for the purposes of the standings (only sixth place remains to be assigned), will be an opportunity to test the mood of the fans. It will be like this in Turin, where Juventus will celebrate the scudetto won two weeks ago tomorrow, maybe it will be like this in Milan too, where the Milan fans will have their say on the infinite Seedorf case. Ears straight also in Florence, Udine and Rome: Montella, Guidolin, Mihajlovic and Reja are far from sure of coaching Fiorentina, Udinese, Sampdoria and Lazio again next year. In short, what is about to unleash is a real domino effect, which will start only after the first piece has moved. In the meantime, however, things are moving almost everywhere, also through the declarations of those directly involved.

Yesterday Andrea Agnelli and Silvio Berlusconi set fire to their respective squares with words to be interpreted. “Nobody is indispensable, not even me – said the Juventus president. – The history of our club is bigger than any individual.” Is Conte's ears ringing? We'll know soon, maybe already today when the coach will hold the usual press conference on the eve, provided he doesn't decide to decline. Certainly, however, Agnelli's statements will not have pleased him, also because they run counter to those of Marotta ("our priority is to continue with him") and Buffon ("a Juve without him is unimaginable"). But even Conte knows that Agnelli decides in the end, so the game is still to be played. Surprisingly, even around Milanello the games are reopened. "Seedorf could also stay, provided that an agreement can be found with him for his position with the club," Silvio Berlusconi said. – We'll decide after Sunday's game, but taking him in January wasn't a mistake." For the first time, the number one in Via Aldo Rossi says a word in favor of the Dutchman, however suggesting that much will depend on Galliani. Relations with the CEO are in fact difficult, not to say very complicated, which is why the bench wobbles despite the good results obtained. On the other hand, however, there is a heavy contract (10 million gross until 2016), which at least pushes us to reflect before decreeing an exemption. Ears well open here too, given that Seedorf will be giving the press conference this afternoon. Instead, everything was calmer at Inter, but woe to taking Mazzarri's confirmation for granted.

It's true, Thohir has repeatedly reiterated that WM won't touch himself, but he still didn't want to talk about a contract. However, the coach, due to expire in 12 months, does not want to work without the classic parachute, which is why the story, although less urgent, should not be completely overlooked. Hot hours also in Genoa bank Sampdoria, where the renewal with Mihajlovic has not yet arrived ("we'll only talk about it from Sunday" Sinisa said) and in Florence. The owners did not like Montella's statements, as did the rumors that he would be in contention for the Juventus bench. Unless he remains Conte, but there are still no certainties. In short, the domino effect is ready to go and this year it could really revolutionize over half of Serie A.
