Atac strike, Rome Tpl, trains: transport in chaos on June 8th

Month you go, strike you find. June 8 promises to be a Black Friday for all those who travel using public transport, especially in Lazio. It starts with the trains, which will stop in the night between 7 and 8 June due to a strike.

However, a four-hour public transport strike will also take place in Rome on Friday 8 June which will involve Atac, Roma Tpl and Cotral. The umpteenth day of hardship therefore seems to be upon us for all Romans who, in the morning, will have to move from one place to another in the capital.

ROME, ATAC STRIKE AND ROME LPT ON 8 JUNE: TIMETABLES

The agitation on the public transport network has been proclaimed by the Ugl and will concern all public and private companies in the sector in Lazio to protest against "safety issues for workers and users. "

Based on what was communicated by the same Capitoline investee, "In Rome, the agitation, from 8,30 to 12,30, will affect the Atac network (buses, trams, subways, regional railways Rome-Lido, Rome-Civitacastellana-Viterbo, Termini-Centocelle) and the peripheral lines managed by Rome Tpl ”.

Based on the new legislation on strikes, the company lets users know that "On the occasion of the previous strike called by the Ugl (June 13, 2016) - reads the Atac website - membership on the Atac network was 21.7 per percent as regards the surface service (buses, trolleybuses and trams) and 22.1 percent as regards the underground and regional railways service”.

However, low membership does not mean little inconvenience: in the past, too, with a low participation in protests it caused many difficulties for citizens.

ROME: COTRAL STRIKE

At the same time, Contral employees will also cross their arms. Therefore, the extra-urban public transport service is also at risk. The strike times are the same as set by Atac: from 8.30 to 12.30.

TRAINS STRIKE: ALL THE INFORMATION ON TRENITALIA AND TRENORD

However, the unrest that will involve the transport sector does not stop here, but will also extend to Trenitalia and Trenord. In the railway the strike, called by Cub Trasporti, will begin at 22.00 on Thursday 7 and will end at 7.00 on Friday 8 June.

No changes for Frecciarossa, Frecciargento, Frecciabianca and InterCity, while regional and suburban trains may undergo changes or cancellations. On the Trenitalia website, the company will publish information in real time. In any case, the connections between Rome Termini and Fiumicino airport and with Malpensa airport are guaranteed.

The strike will also affect Trenord. Possible changes and cancellations in regional, suburban and airport services. There are no guaranteed trains and timetables, but all trains departing by 22pm on Thursday and arriving at their final destination by 23pm will run regularly.

PLANES AT RISK, FLIGHT CONTROLLERS STRIKE

The air traffic controllers will also stop, from 13 to 17, with consequent inconvenience also for those who have to fly.
Enav, the company that controls air traffic over Italy and on which the controllers depend, specifies that it is engaged "with the trade union organizations both in the renewal of the collective agreement and, simultaneously, in the dialogue on the Business Plan already illustrated in the 'Joint Guarantee Body'. The 2018-2022 Plan, recalls the company, "is aimed at implementing a development strategy consistent with the transformations taking place in the national and European sector, with an investment of 650 million euros in cutting-edge technologies and infrastructures, without foreseeing redundancies nor layoffs, but only ample opportunities to enhance professionalism through an unprecedented training commitment ". The dialogue, concludes Enav, will continue "to allow the continuous modernization of the Company and a common sustainable development in the long term, in line with the European regulatory context".
