Relais & Châteaux: turnover of 86 million euros, +22,8%

An excellent vintage for Relais & Châteaux. At the end of June, the hoteliers' association closed the fiscal year with a turnover of 86 million euros, an increase of 22,8% compared to 2010. The figure consists of sales from the Central Reservations, gift vouchers, gift boxes and Lys packages. The booking offices recorded over 226 overnight stays, equal to an increase of 13%. The average price is 869 euros, while the average length of stay reaches 2,25 nights. The Association was enriched this year by 40 new members, including six countries and eight cities.

For Jaume Tàpies, president of Relais & Châteaux, “the fact of being able to close this financial year with such positive results is a source of extreme satisfaction for the Association and its members. We went through the period of the global crisis in good conditions and, in a rather favorable economic climate, the strategic choices of the Association, the level of excellence of our facilities and the personal commitment of our hoteliers, restaurateurs and chefs assert themselves and bring their fruits, despite the difficulties encountered in some areas such as Japan and North Africa, managed in any case with competence. Furthermore, the primary markets of Relais & Châteaux – the United States, England and France – are recovering and we observe the return of a climate of confidence among consumers, which translates into a more than encouraging number of bookings”.
