Massimo Di Carlo joins the CDP team. From 1 March, the former Mediobanca will be the new director of the business area of the group led by Dario Scannapieco. Di Carlo comes from Illimity, where he held the position of Chief Lending Officer and President of Illimity Sgr, the online credit institution founded and directed by Corrado Passera. In his new role, Di Carlo will report directly to the managing director and general manager of Scannapieco.
Born in 64, after graduating in Economics and Finance from Bocconi, Di Carlo began his professional career in Mediobanca which lead him to hold the role of deputy general manager for 8 years (from 2006 to 2014), with responsibility for lending and structured finance activities. Together with a team of Italian senior bankers, he founded Springrowth Sgr in 2017, an asset management company specializing in private debt, then purchased a year later by Muzinich & Co, the US asset manager specializing in global public and private corporate credit.
In 2019 he joined illimity as an independent member of the credit and investment committee and from 2021 in the role of Chief lending officer with the aim of strengthening the group's credit risk management. Since 2021 he has also been chairman of illimity Sgr, the management company of the illimity group.
