Mps, the risk nomination starts from there and institutional investors have already presented their list. The Foundations are almost ready

Sgr and investors (1.3% of the capital of Mps) presented their list of independent candidates. The Foundations are expected (about 3%). But obviously we look at the ace that the Treasury will drop on the presidency and CEO

Mps, the risk nomination starts from there and institutional investors have already presented their list. The Foundations are almost ready

The delicate risk on the appointments of investee companies officially started with the advance of the troops of Monte dei Paschi, among the first in the diaries to confront the shareholders.
In the past few hours, Patricia Grieco who held the position of president of Rocca Salimbeni announced his resignation starting from 26 March, to move to the equivalent desk of Anima.

At this point we need to see who will take his place in the bank owned by the Ministry of Economy for 64,23% and what will be the majority list that will be presented. In the League there are those who are pushing for a female figure, to confirm a woman at the top after Stefania Bariatti and precisely Grieco. The names circulating are those of the administrative law professor Barbara Lilla Boschetti, today on the board of Ferrovie Nord Milano (FNM), or the lawyer Marta Asquasciati, today on the board of directors of Iren, both considered close to Matteo Salvini's party.

It will then be necessary to understand if there will be confirmation from the managing director Luigi Lovaglio, as it seems at the moment, and the extent of the new board of directors is also to be defined: the statute provides for a minimum of 9 to a maximum of 15 directors.

Independent candidates of institutional investors

But for the other cases, as also emerged in the latest of a series of meetings at Palazzo Chigi, there is still no alignment in the centre-right.

Meanwhile SGR and institutional investors have filed minority lists of only independent candidates for the renewal of the board of directors and of the board of statutory auditors of the Bank foreseen in the next ordinary shareholders' meeting of 20th April. The managers who submitted the lists are holders of more than 1,3% of the ordinary shares of the company.
The list presented for the board of directors is composed of: Marco Giorgino, Alessandra Giuseppina Barzaghi, Paola De Martini. The list presented for the supervisory board is made up of: Standing Auditor Enrico Ciai, Alternate Auditor Piera Vitali.
This was communicated by the coordinator of the Management Committee, Emilio Franco, on behalf of: Arca Fondi SGR, BancoPosta Fondi SGR, Eurizon Capital SA, Eurizon Capital SGR, Fidelity Funds, Fideuram Asset Management (Ireland), Fideuram Intesa Sanpaolo Private Banking Asset Management SGR, Interfund Sicav, Mediolanum Gestione Fondi SGR.

The foundations are still at work

The minority shareholder Foundations of Monte dei Paschi are working to define their minority list. In the foreground is the MPS Foundation which, on the occasion of the recapitalization last autumn, rounded up its stake in the transferee bank which had by now become symbolic.
But the other Tuscan foundations are also involved such as Cassa Firenze and also the other large foundations that have responded to the Treasury's appeal so as not to derail the 2,5 billion recapitalization of the bank such as Lucca and Pistoia and Pescia, supported by their great cousins from the North, i.e. Cariplo, Compagnia San Paolo, Crt and CariCuneo.
Overall this battalion has invested around 100 million in the recapitalization and today holds one share close to 3%. The objective of the foundations is to preside over the new governance and to support the bank during the delicate period privatization process which will start again in the coming months. The presentation of a minority list will in any case require the stipulation of a consultation agreement similar to the one that Cariplo, Compagnia and the other entities promoted both in 2019 and last year for the renewal of the top management of Intesa Sanpaolo.
