From 18 September to 31 December 2014 Banca Sistema Arte offers an ironic and irreverent but at the same time cultured and profound reflection, the result of a work of personal introspection and at the same time of collective scope: these are some of the main figures of the work of Frederick Unia, young guest artist of the project non-profit Bank SISTEMA ART.
“Federico Unia. The dilatation of the gaze” is the title of the anthological exhibition that Banca Sistema hosts in its headquarters in Corso Monforte in Milan. A journey made up of 30 pictorial works created with mixed techniques between 2010 and 2014, some of which belong to private collections.
The exhibition unfolds along a complex cycle of canvases, often of large dimensions: all Works characterized by a very original transfiguration, the result of a process of reinterpretation of the historical-artistic heritage. These are works of great emotional impact and very rich from a symbolic point of view, capable of arousing a wide spectrum of emotions in the user.
Unia's works live in particular on technical virtuosity of painting never for its own sake but always used by the artist at the service of the expressive message: one could also speak of the use of the aesthetic medium as a tool for communication and sharing complaints and appeals, hopes and torments, in a complex "game" of overlapping and contamination.
Even a reading of the mass media, as well as an existential reflection, can in some way approach the most intimate soul of Federico Unia's work, in this sense strongly influenced by the link with Milanese street art, to which his first creative season belongs.
The exhibition attempts to restore in a single occasion all the intellectual and aesthetic liveliness that characterizes Unia's artistic work and its relative evolution.
Federico Unia's personal exhibition is the tenth exhibition promoted by Banca Sistema within the non-profit project Banca SISTEMA ARTE which, born in 2011, aims to support and encourage the work of young Italian artists by offering them opportunities and tools visibility.
To this end, Banca Sistema also publishes and distributes with Vanillaedizioni a catalog of the exhibition which presents and together retraces, thanks to a rich and articulated text by Andrea Del Guercio, the entire evolutionary parable of Unia's artistic production.
The exhibition will remain set up in the spaces of Banca Sistema, in Corso Monforte 20 in Milan, from 18 September
as at 31 December 2014.
Federico Unia, alias OmerTDk, was born in Milan on 28 October 1983 and his artistic and cultural training is closely linked and influenced by the bond with his hometown.
