There's nothing to be done: the Italians just can't help but take a bite of that apple. He's stronger than them. And although the price of the new iPhone5 is higher in Italy than in other European countries (up to 70 euros more), in Apple Stores and Tim, Vodafone and Tre stores throughout the boot thousand of Apple-addicted I'm already in line for the umpteenth, at least the fifth, sleepless night of the iPhone. From Genoa to Salerno, from Verona to Catania, obviously passing through Rome, Milan and 460 other municipalities scattered throughout the peninsula.
The official marketing in the points of sale of Italian operators starts at the stroke of midnight between Thursday 27 and Friday 28 September (Apple is categorical about this: not a minute earlier), while for the Apple Stores you have to wait until 8 on Friday morning. But even there, in front of the shops in Rome, Bologna and Marcianise, there are already long queues.
The price - unfortunately - has already been discussed: many Italians, given the moonlight, will probably have decided to break a piggy bank given that the new Apple-branded jewel, which follows the 4S released at the end of 2011 for about a year, it is significantly more expensive than its predecessor. The ceiling of 700 euros is breached for the first time for the basic 16Gb model, to reach almost a thousand (959!) for the 64Gb one.
And so the race, this time more than ever, will be aimed at offers. The three operators have already made them known: Tim offers a formula of 30 euros per month (with a mandatory subscription for 30 months) with conversations at 9 cents/minute and messages at the same cost, and a gigabyte of internet included. In addition, if you switch to Tim from another operator, there is an offer of 39 euros per month with 500 minutes, 250 text messages and a gigabyte of navigation.
Three Italy (which opens 800 points of sale, 300 more than at the launch of the previous 4S) instead presents an offer for the iPhone 5 from 29 euros per month (also in this case two and a half years compulsory) with 400 minutes, 100 text messages, 2 gigabytes of internet browsing. With this tariff, the 16 GB smartphone is free, in the case of the 32 and 64, 99 and 199 Euros must be added respectively. Then there are other offers of 39, 49 and 69 euros per month, with 32 Gb at no cost and also 64 Gb as regards the most complete.
Finally, Vodafone offers two offers of 54 and 69 euros per month with an initial contribution of 5, 69, 99, 169, 199 or 269. The costs are linked to the fee, which in turn originates the costs from the internet navigation plan. Then there are the relaxation packages, flat offers including everything.
