Intesa Sanpaolo would be ready to sell the 2,4% of Parmalat it owns to Lactalis

A possible adhesion of Intesa Sanpaolo to the Opa Lactalis on Parmalat "is probable". This is what the bank's managing director Corrado Passera said on the sidelines of the Assolombarda assembly. Intesa Sanpaolo holds 2,4 percent of the Collecchio group and, in recent weeks, had worked unsuccessfully on the project to bring together an Italian alternative to the French giant's proposal. Lactalis is offering 2,6 euros for each Parmalat share it does not already own, around 71% of the total, in an operation worth a total of around 3,4 billion euros.
