Technological innovation, integrated systems, artificial intelligence, efficient use of energy resources: the fourth industrial revolution passes through these key components, or Industry 4.0, which aims to make cities smart. An unstoppable process, in which multiutilities play an important role as subjects "enabling" development. For this the Hera Group has chosen to continue on the path of strengthening skills and professionalism in the data analytics fields, through the signing of a collaboration agreement with the Modena-based startup Energy Way, specialized in the development of solutions and mathematical models for the optimization and efficiency of industrial processes, also thanks to the experience of collaborations with giants of the caliber of Google and IBM.
The areas of intervention included in the agreement concern the activities of Big Data, models Machine learning e artificial intelligence which will be applied to the various sectors in which Hera operates (water, environment, energy, gas and district heating). The objective of the cooperation is to encourage and promote the exchange of experiences, the development of training initiatives, the implementation of projects and the process of mutual growth, activating tools for consultation, study, planning and possible certification of patents.
EnergyWay has been collaborating for some time with the Bologna-based multi-utility on specific projects which, in recent months, have made it possible to develop a model aimed at further improving the energy efficiency processes in the waste-to-energy plant in Ferrara, as well as studying innovative systems for area trading with reference to the electricity market.

Big Data and the revolution of industrial processes will be discussed on Tuesday 17 October, starting at 17 pm, in the “G. Fini” in Modena, as part of an event organized by Energy Way in collaboration with Confindustria Emilia, which will also be attended by the Chief Executive Officer of the Hera Group, Stefano Venier, to present a case history of the company.
