Business confidence in Germany improved more than expected in March, reaching its highest level since the summer of 2011, according to the barometer measured by the Ifo Institute and published today.
The indicator, closely followed by German and European analysts, stood at 112,3 points in March, after the 111,1 points recorded in February and 109,9 points in January. This month's figure is better than forecast, as economists polled by FactSet had predicted zero change.
The Ifo institute which carries out its own survey on a sample of around 7 companies.
