F1: Australian GP, Rosberg wins. Vettel third

Double for the Silver Arrows in the first GP of the season in Melbourne – The Reds had reversed the situation at the start by taking the lead but Alonso's accident and Raikkonen's retirement changed the balance.

Mercedes one-two at the first GP of the season in Australia. Nico Rosberg wins ahead of Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel closes the podium. Everything starts from how it ended but only in the result, which does not say that Ferrari was in the lead for a long time, reaching a margin of up to 12 seconds: then an accident, that of Alonso, changed the balance in the field. In any case, last year in Melbourne the Prancing Horse was caught with one minute, while today, despite recriminating, he gets away with nine seconds. In short, the signs are positive: the Germans are always the favorites but they have to sweat a lot more to win because the Prancing Horse fights and is fast.

Signs of awakening which, however, do not erase the disappointment for the enormous event that vanished and the regrets for the little courageous choices of the low wall. After the Ferrari's pincer start, with the two Mercedes cornered by Vettel and Raikkonen, and domination for half the race, on lap 18 very bad accident for Fernando Alonso. The Spaniard touches Esteban Gutierrez, the Mexican of the Haas team, loses control of the McLaren and takes off to end up against a wall. Car reduced to a hunk of wreckage, so scared, but Nando comes out with a slight limp. The race is suspended because the track is paved with debris. When it resumes, it changes completely and the balance returns to Mercedes' side: the Germans hit the right strategy with a gamble: they mount the averages that no team had ever tried in Melbourne this weekend. Rosberg thanks and starts the marathon towards the finish line.
