Evans: The Fed is more accommodative until the economy starts to grow again

The Fed is expected to adopt more aggressive monetary expansion measures than it has shown thus far unless the US economy shows significant improvements, the president of the Chicago branch of the central bank said.

Chicago Federal Reserve Chairman Charles Evans said he was strongly in favor of accommodative central bank policy for some time as the US economy moved "sideways." The central bank official said he was particularly concerned about the latest macro developments and in favor of decisive and accommodating measures.

According to Evans, quantitative easing must be practiced until unemployment falls below 7% and inflation below 3%.
