EasyJet hires XNUMX Air Berlin employees

EasyJet and Air Berlin have signed an agreement whereby the British low-cost airline acquires part of the bankrupt German airline's operations at Berlin's Tegel airport for a purchase estimated at 40 million euros. It can be read in a note from Easyjet: a maximum of 25 A320 aircraft, Air Berlin crew and other assets including slots will go to her. The bulk of Air Berlin's assets were bought by Lufthansa a couple of weeks ago.

The acquisition - reads the note - is subject to approval by the regulatory authorities and the closing is expected in December. EasyJet has launched a recruitment campaign to attract around 1000 Air Berlin pilots and flight attendants who will be hired in the coming months and will then be trained on EasyJet's operating procedures and safety.
