After the revolution that took place in recent months in the TV rights market, Dazn presents the new "price list" for the new Serie A championship. The video streaming service, we recall, won 7 exclusive matches plus another 3 in co-exclusive with Sky. But at what price?
DAZN: THE COST OF SUBSCRIPTIONS
The platform has established a discount for early subscribers. Those who sign up for a season ticket from 1 to 28 July will be able to watch the matches at the price of 19,99 euros a month for 14 months. Those who arrive later will have to pay 29,99 euros. Compared to the old subscription, valid for only 3 games (equal to 9,99 euros per month), the cost doubles or triples. It will also be possible to cancel the subscription at any time, without additional costs and without returning the discounts used.
Through a statement, Dazn underlines that the season ticket will not only cover the 10 Serie A matches, but also "La Liga, the top Spanish league, and the best of international football with the Copa Libertadores, Copa Sudamericana, FA Cup, Carabao Cup , MLS, as well as the thematic channels of FC Internazionale and AC Milan”. The platform will also broadcast “MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3, NFL, UFC, Matchroom, GGG and Golden Boy for boxing, Indycar and darts. Added to this are the Eurosport 1 HD and 2 HD channels through which it will be possible to follow, among other competitions, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic adventure”. WHAT ABOUT OLD SUBSCRIBERS?
For old subscribers Dazn has foreseen a cost of 19,99 euros per month instead of 29,99 euros. 10 euros more than today. All starting in September (and for 12 months), because the months of July and August will be entirely free. Furthermore, in the coming weeks, Dazn will communicate further offers dedicated to old subscribers.
On the other hand, Dazn must try to recoup the investment made: to win the rights until 2024, the English company paid out 840 million euros per season, of which 340 covered by Tim who signed an agreement with Dazn.
