Starting from Brussels and wake up the next day in the heart of Venice it will be possible to leave from February 5 2025. European Sleeper, the Belgian-Dutch railway company, will launch a new train service night train which will connect the Belgian capital to the city of canals, passing through seven other European cities. This route offers the opportunity to cross Europe enjoying a restful sleep as the train travels through the Alps and connects the North Sea to the Mediterranean Sea.
In addition to the new link, European Sleeper is working on new routes, like the one between Amsterdam e Barcelona. Other operators, such as ÖBB Nightjet and the Eurail consortium, already offer several night train options across Europe, covering routes from the British Isles to the Balkans and Scandinavia.
Brussels-Venice: the route of the night train
Il journey, lasting around 15 hours, provides stops in the following cities:
- Brussels
- Antwerp
- Rotterdam
- Utrecht
- Colonia
- Monaco
- Innsbruck
- Verona
The train will finally arrive in Venice, one of the most iconic and romantic cities in Europe.
Hours and prices
The service will be operational twice a week in the months of February e March 2025, coinciding with the high season for winter sports and the Venice Carnival. The times provisional they foresee departure from Brussels at 17pm and arrival in Venice around 00pm the following day. The reverse route will depart from Venice at 14pm, arriving in Brussels at 00am the following day. Final details on timetables and prices are still being finalized, but tickets are expected to be competitive compared to other overnight travel options in Europe. The Reservations will open the 1 September 2024 ° and tickets can also be purchased through the ecological partner Green City Trip.
Service options for every budget
European Sleeper will offer different accommodations to suit various budgets, including:
- Sleeping cabins: three beds per compartment, the most comfortable and expensive option.
- Berths: five or six beds per compartment, an intermediate solution.
- Sedili: six seats per compartment, the cheapest option.
