Enelpower case, 9 sentences and 98,7 million confiscated from Ansaldo

This is the first-instance sentence handed down by the judges of the fourth section of the Criminal Court of Milan in the trial on the alleged bribes – LG, former CEO of Enelpower, and AC, former CEO of Enel Produzione, were acquitted by prescription.

Sentences for nine people from two years to 3 years and six months in prison and confiscation of 98,7 million euros from Ansaldo, a technology company that is part of the Finmeccanica group. These are the decisions of the Court of Milan at the end of the first instance trial on alleged bribes paid to former Enelpower and Enipower officials to win some tenders in the energy sector.

The court also acquitted LG, former CEO of Enelpower, and AC, former CEO of Enel Produzione, by statute of limitations. For them, the prosecutor Carlo Nocerino had asked for a sentence of six and a half years in prison. Acquittals also for several other defendants, while assets for a total of two million euros were confiscated from six companies in addition to Ansaldo.
