Donadoni and Destro, what a blow. Bologna reverses all the predictions of the eve and knocks out Sarri's Napoli back from thirteen consecutive successes. Not even Higuain's late awakening was enough to save the Neapolitans.
Bologna, revived by the Donadoni cure, immediately took control of the game and closed the first half with a two-goal lead thanks to a goal by Mattia Destro, the real star of the day, and a goal by defender Rossettini. Napoli appeared stunned and in the second half tried to regroup but immediately conceded the third goal thanks to the usual Destro on a day of grace.
Three goals down, Sarri's team tried to react and reopened the game with two goals from super Higuain, but it was too late. Despite the final battle, Napoli failed to catch the draw which would have been a blasphemy after the clear dominance of Bologna for a large part of the match.
With the defeat in Bologna, Napoli abandons the top spot and drops to third place, overtaken by Inter and Fiorentina, both victorious. And on Sunday there is Napoli-Roma, two teams looking for redemption.
