Football betting, earthquake on the way: Atalanta, Siena and Novara deferred to Serie A

The first warning shocks are coming of what according to rumors will be the biggest earthquake in the history of football. The investigation into football betting, started by the Prosecutor of Cremona, followed with another trend by that of Bari and now being examined (the first) by the Prosecutor of the FIGC and its boss Stefano Palazzi, is bringing the first consequences for clubs and players in Serie A, B and Lega Pro (the old Serie C).

The first wave of referrals, officially announced in the morning by Palazzi, refers only to the Cremonese line of inquiry (as is known, other investigations would seem to reveal responsibilities also extended to various Serie A clubs), and for now it involves three teams in the top flight – for offenses committed in Serie B, however: Atalanta (already penalized by 6 points this season following the Doni case), Siena and Novara.

The latter has already been relegated to the field, and it is not yet clear how and when the sanctions will be assigned, given that 22 clubs are involved, 13 of which from the current Serie B, for which playoffs and playouts will soon start which could further upset the calendar and standings.

In fact, the Palazzi prosecutor is waiting for the conclusion of the championships (at least Serie A) to complete the indictmentmeanwhile, however, the referrals emerge from the official ordinance for: 33 matches (29 of the Serie B Championship of various sports seasons; 2 of two different editions of the Tim Cup; 2 of the Italian Cup of the Lega Pro in the 2010/2011 sports season), 22 clubs, 61 individuals including the following players: Paolo Domenico Acerbis, Andrea Alberti, Mirko Bellodi, Cristian Bertani, Davide Caremi, Filippo Carobbio, Mario Cassano, Edoardo Catinali, Marco Cellini, Roberto Colacone, Alberto Comazzi, Luigi Consonni, Kewullay Conteh, Achille Coser, Federico Cossato, Filippo Cristante, Andrea De Falco, Franco De Falco, Alfonso De Lucia, Christian Doni, Nicola Ferrari, Riccardo Fissore, Luca Fiuzzi, Alberto Maria Fontana, Ruben Garlini, Carlo Gervasoni, Andrea Iaconi, Vincenzo Iacopino, Vincenzo Italiano, Thomas Hervé Job, Inacio José Joelson, Tomas Locatelli, Giuseppe Magalini, Salvatore Mastronunzio, Vittorio Micolucci, Nicola Mora, Antonio Narciso, Maurizio Nassi, Gianluca Nicco, Marco Paoloni, Gianfranco Parlato, Dario Passoni, Alex Pederzoli, Alessandro Pellicori, Mirco Poloni, Cesare Gianfranco Rickler, Gianni Rosati, Francesco Ruopolo, Nicola Santoni, Vincenzo Santoruvo, Maurizio Sarri, Luigi Sartor, Alessandro Sbaffo, Mattia Serafini, Rijat Shala, Mirko Stefani, Juri Tamburini, Marco Turati, Daniele Advantaged, Nicola Ventola, Alessandro Zamperini.
