The Superior Council of Bank of Italy nominated unanimously, Chiara Scotti, current senior vice president and director of research at the Federal Reserve in Dallas, in the role of deputy general director of the directorate. The appointment, which took place unanimously on the proposal of the governor Fabio Panetta, must be approved by a decree of the President of the Republic, promoted by the President of the Council of Ministers in concert with the Minister of Economy and Finance, in accordance with article 18 of the Statute of the Bank.
Who is Chiara Scotti
Before taking on his current position at Dallas Federal Reserve, Scotti held various roles on the board of governors of the Federal Reserve in Washington D.C. She served as an advisor to the vice president of the Federal Reserve and other members of the board, as well as being a member of the board of the financial stability division and an economist at the international finance division.
His career is characterized by broad international experience, with a focus on monetary policy, central bank communications, macroeconomics, empirical finance, financial stability, payments and digital assets. Scotti is the author of numerous research works published in international journals and has presented his studies in various relevant seminars and conferences.
After graduating fromBocconi University of Milan, Chiara Scotti continued her studies at the University of Pennsylvania, obtaining a master's degree and a PhD in economics.
