Ansaldo Sts signs 33 million euro contracts in Australia

This is the second contract within the framework contract signed on 25 November 2010 with Rio Tinto Iron One. Under the agreement, works will be carried out for a total value of 340 million euros.

Ansaldo Sts has received, through its subsidiary Ansaldo Sts Australia, new contracts worth 45 million Australian dollars (approximately 33 million euros) from Rio Tinto Iron Ore for the supply of railway signaling and communication systems. It is the second tender of the framework contract signed on 25 November 2010 between Ansaldo Sts and Rio Tinto Iron Ore. According to it, Ansaldo Sts will intervene in support of the Hope Downs 4 mining project underway in the south-eastern Pilbara region of Western Australia. Work will be carried out throughout the period for a value of approximately €340 million which will include engineering works, systems integration and supply of technologies to support Rio Tinto's expansion and operational efficiency projects.
